Wait, I’ve been on the race for 2 months already!!?? I have no words. The growth of my relationship with the Father is so sweet every day. Every day He is teaching me something new!!

Let me tell you a cool story of how God is ALIVE and still revealing and working in our team. So, one day two members of ours bought some flowers from the market to decorate our space to make it cutesy and more like home. As they were bringing them up to our space, our host’s wife looked at them with a lot of concern and stopped them. She asked why they bought the flowers and told them that the kind of flowers they bought were flowers that were used to worship buddha and other false gods. YIKES! We got those out quick!!! The rest of the day we all felt an overwhelming feeling of guilt and a feeling like we couldn’t understand why we couldn’t just keep them. The next morning in my quiet time I was reading my devo and studying in John, and all of the sudden Leviticus chapter 5 pops into my head. One thing I have learned is that when scripture just pops in my head, it’s the Holy spirit telling me something. So, I opened up and it said this “If anyone commits a breach of faith and sins unintentionally in any of the holy things of the Lord, he shall bring to the Lord as his compensation, a ram without blemish out of the flock, valued in silver shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, for a guilt offering.” I was kind of confused at first and then remembered, since we have been completely and fully covered by the blood of Jesus as Christians, we don’t need to carry around guilt. The Lord reminded me in that moment to simply come to Him with guilt or shame, the word says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ!! The word also tells us to make our requests known to God. Of course, repentance is key, but the Lord just wants you to tell Him so that He can provide healing in an area of guilt or shame. It was so cool to see Him speak through scripture and to remember that it is living and active!! Sharper than a two-edged sword!!! God, I pray that you would remind your people that you are living in your word. I pray that your people would hear your voice through your word, give them the desire to find you and read not for ourselves, but to know you and love you as a servant. Thank you, God!!!! All scripture is profitable for teaching, learning and encouragement. The Lord wants you to listen to Him, how will you let Him in???

I’ll also tell you a funny story from two weekends ago, buckle up because it felt like a dream! We, as a team, were invited to our host’s son’s wedding and of course they were going to have a really fun reception. Since we were there, they asked us to dance on the stage for everyone. Immediate panic. My team was wondering what to do and the first thought that came to mind was footloose. So yes, we danced footloose in front of everyone at a Cambodian wedding, I will never forget that moment. The next day it was Lydia’s birthday and so they threw another party! And you guessed it, we did footloose. We also threw in cotton eyed joe and church clap for kicks and giggles. After we danced that night, the governor of the province showed up and gave Lydia a birthday cake!!! She blew out the candles and then our host asked her to pray. Out loud. In front of like 50 people. Her face was priceless. Then our host prayed, and while he was praying, rave music and strobe lights started going off and we were trying so hard to hold in our laughter. It was the best day ever. Even though it felt like a fever dream, it was so much fun. This past weekend we also got to meet up with some of our squad to visit Angkor Wat!! It filled my cup SO MUCH and I’m so grateful for the time spent with them!! Love you X squad :))))

I continue to be amazed by the humility, kindness and flexibility of our hosts!! They are a gift from above and my team and I are beyond grateful for them. Please continue to pray for this province!! This church is a testimony to God’s faithfulness to his people. They are planted in between a Muslim community and a prostitution part of town. This church we get to serve are prime examples of Matthew 5:13-16!!! Go read it, it’s so encouraging. Pray against the schemes of the devil because he is always looking for ways to discourage God’s people. Pray for protection over their hearts and minds and pray for laborers to be sent to this precious church. Lastly, pray for financial provision for Our host’s family and the church. Lord, hear their cries for the Cambodian people to experience you!!!

Thank you, readers, for your prayers. They mean the world (race) to me and my team 🙂 Keep praying for continued protection over my team and our health, we have been struggling this past week!! Pray for rest and revival!!!
