You heard that right. Training camp is already over. It’s been a month since I’ve said goodbye to everything I know to follow in the plan God has set before me. What a wild ride it’s been. so much healing, friendship, and growth has happened in just 4 short weeks.

In my last post I shared with you the beginning of training camp, and here I am to share the second half!! I would LOVE to tell you about my amazing team that I will be doing ministry with for the next 8 months. When we do ministry on the field, we do it in teams of about 6-8 people. Sometimes we will do ministry with other teams, which is so fun. But, for now I would like to introduce you to Team Alabaster.

Clara Nance, Sophie Copeland, Faith DeVito, Lydia Aschliman, Raya Reiswig, Megan Magoon, and our beautiful, kind, amazing leader Alyssa Belotti. Our team has been able to be intimate with the Lord and each other these past few weeks. We have gotten to laugh and cry together, do ministry at a pumpkin patch, install doors and most importantly become more like Jesus every day. I’m so blessed to be a part of a team that desires to know God and know each other so deeply. I always question if this is right because it’s so counter-cultural. But good news! Jesus was counter cultural and is not like this world. Being a part of a kingdom minded group of people is so refreshing to my soul. It also is very offensive to my flesh. My flesh feels awkward, not worthy and weird. But I am not a slave to my flesh!! I’m a slave to righteousness in Christ Jesus!! YAY!!

This past week we had the opportunity to travel to Harlem Heights, Florida to do some disaster relief. The guys on the squad went to Mayfield, Kentucky to serve with Samaritan’s purse!! We have a great week of learning how to be steadfast in uncomfortable situations, working with new people, and learning more about our team!! We got to serve the community in Harlem Heights by helping them rebuild homes. We did construction work, yard work, cooking, and so much more. To be very honest it was a tough week for me. Me, Megan and Alyssa hung doors while the rest of the team did yard work the whole week. At the beginning of the week I was not feeling it! I was complaining and had a tired attitude. But, as the week went on I was kindly humbled by God and was able to see the fruit in our labor! For example, A man in the community told us that he would smoke our team some barbeque chicken if we fixed his ceiling, and so naturally we did. The last day of the week, we had a delicious chicken dinner and left Florida feeling so held by the Father. I am so in awe of how he taught me and my team to be patient and how much fruit came from just one week!!! PRAISE GOD!! Please pray for the adventures in missions base in FL as they continue to rebuild and restore homes! Pray for open minds and hearts to hear the gospel!!

It’s been a wild ride these past 2 weeks but guess what…WE LEAVE FOR CAMBODIA IN 2 DAYS!!??? WHAT!? I’m so beyond excited!! Here’s some prayer requests you can lift as we prepare for travel!!

  • Pray for hearts and minds to be softened as we travel into Cambodia!
  • Pray for the travel, pray for protection and provision in traveling!
  • Pray for wisdom for our logistics team as they guide us through the day and pray for wisdom for the pilots to get us there safely!
  • Pray for God to continue to prepare our hearts for ministry!!
  • Pray for my squads fundraising journeys!!!
